Start at the top. Place the platform over the leg assembly and attach the cross braces. The braces that go horizontal go on the inside of the legs and the cross braces go outside.

Once you have laid out the parts - the next step is to locate the 3 parts that make up each leg and then bolt these three pieces together. For now just finger tighten the bolts. Bolt on the mast head and stand it up.

Today I put an Iowa State Windmill together and took a series of photos that I will be using for the instruction sheet that will be sent to each customer. Thought I would share it here. Your windmill will arrive UPS in a 30X25X5 inch box. The first steps are to unpack the windmill and lay out all of the parts

There is a two foot extension kit available for the Garden galvanized windmill. It makes the windmill look a lot taller. It takes only about an hour to add this extension to the standard eight foot windmill. The extension kit costs $28.95 and has a shipping cost of $15.90. If you do want to extend the windmill to ten feet there are some things to know. First of all you will need a ladder to be able to put the wheel and tail assembly onto the tower. The next thing to know is it highly recommended that you mount the windmill to a cement base. The added height will greatly increase the change of the windmill tipping over in high winds. Here are some photos showing the extended Garden Windmill compared with a standard 8 foot windmill.
