May 6th, 2008

Start at the top. Place the platform over the leg assembly and attach the cross braces. The braces that go horizontal go on the inside of the legs and the cross braces go outside.

Adding the 2 Foot extension kit to the Windmill

May 5th, 2008

There is a two foot extension kit available for the Garden galvanized windmill.  It makes the windmill look a lot taller.  It takes only about an hour to add this extension to the standard eight foot windmill.  The extension kit costs $28.95 and has a shipping cost of $15.90.  If you do want to extend the windmill to ten feet there are some things to know.  First of all you will need a ladder to be able to put the wheel and tail assembly onto the tower.  The next thing to know is it highly recommended that you mount the windmill to a cement base.  The added height will greatly increase the change of the windmill tipping over in high winds. Here are some photos showing the extended  Garden Windmill compared with a standard 8 foot windmill.Garden Windmill with 2 Foot extensionExtended and Standard Windmills
