While we are on this screen of my iPhone I will go over what the apps are and what they do. The title of the app is a link just click it to go to a description of the app. While I could do these posts directly from my iPhone, I am actually using BlogDesk from my PC.

The top group is Contacts, You Tube, Notes and Voice Memos , and the second group Calendar and Calculator come with the iPhone 3GS.
The Kindle app allows you to go to the Kindle store on Amazon and buy and download books. If you have an iPhone you really do not need to have the Amazon Kindle device. You can read Kindle books just fine on your iPhone. Free
The iDisk app allows you to access your Mobile Me account. Mobile Me is an Apple site that allows you to share things like email, contacts, photos and lots other things that are on your iPhone with your computer(s) or network or with others. Apple charges $99 a year. There is a free trial you will see in the link. I find Mobile Me to be very useful and well worth the cost. Free
The first item in row three is pUniverse – short for pocket universe. If you want to know what stars and planets you are seeing in the sky this is a really great simple program – you point your iPhone to the part of the sky you want to know about and up comes what you are seeing. $2.99
Next in this row is Shrubs – this app allows you to have your family tree information on your iPhone. You must first find someone in your family that is into genealogy and has your family tree in GEDCOM format. They can upload their GEDCOM file and you can then download it to your iPhone. In my case I have LOTS of cousins – and so this is useful at family reunions (so you do not look like a total idiot for not recognizing family members) or for social media lookups. $9.99
Speed Test is next – This app allow you to check you 3G or WiFi Connection – this is useful if you are uploading or downloading from your iPhone. Free
Next is WordPress – this app connects you to your WordPress blogs so you can post directly to your WordPress Blogs. Free
Evernote – this app lets you copy and paste things from your computer and share the information with other computers or your iPhone. Evernote lets you remember all sorts of data. Free
Track Free – tracks hurricanes – This one does not have a web site that shows the iPhone software. Go to iTunes Applications and search for hurricane. Free
Facebook – this is a must have application if you use FaceBook. You can do almost everything on your iPhone that you can do on your computer. Free
Weatherlink – this app connects to the Davis weather station site. If you have a Davis weather station and it is one the internet you can view the weather at you home. You can also view other weather sources live.
This completes the applications that I have on my iPhone on my second screen. I will be listing More apps that I use later.
