I spent the night in Hayes Kansas and the next morning it was time to complete the trip to Gering Nebraska. Hayes is nice city, lots of modern motels, a number of places to eat.
I got to the Colorado state line went on to Burlington, Colorado and turned North on Route 385. This goes through Sidney, Nebraska where it was time to stop for lunch before heading on to the Scotts Bluff area.
Sidney is where Cabela’s Outfiters started. Cabela’s now has a number of stores – if you are any where close to one stop and take a look. It will be a great experience. Cabela’s world headquarters is still located at Sidney Nebraska. Here are some photos of the Sidney Cabela’s store.

In Sidney I saw three very long trailers each with something I did not know what it was. Asked the truck driver – turns out these are the blades used for the wind turbine generators. They are really huge – the windmills each have three blades. It takes three tractor trailers just to get the blades to a windmill farm.
